Linen Closet Overhaul
Starting to tackle some projects over here, knowing we’ll be home for a while! I need to get organized! Admittedly, I did this Linen Closet overhaul BEFORE I started watching The Home Edit on Netflix and now I’m pumped to tackle every closet and cupboard in my house!
The BEFORE picture of our linen closet is quite frankly embarrassing. We live in a good sized house and have a very small linen closet. I also seem to have a hard time getting rid of old bedding I’ve switched over or towels I think I may need someday. So I needed a whole purge and it feels so good!
Oh my gosh, I can’t even believe I’m sharing that! It was once organized but as I ran out of space, things just got shoved in – beach towels mixed with bathroom towels, new sheets mixed with old. So very terrible. I pulled everything out – made a donate pile of bedding I’d used in previous bedrooms but that wasn’t used for long and a garbage pile for things I could just get rid of. I donated three garbage bags of stuff to the thrift store and did that ever feel good!
Then I added a fresh coat of paint that I happened to have leftover from our front door. Quietude by Sherwin Williams is the colour and I just gave a bit of polish to the space when you open the door.
I ordered some organizational storage solutions from Amazon to help keep sheets with sheets and towels with towels. They have clear windows that I’ve turned inwards for space but I love that feature so you can see what you’re looking for. I was able to have a box for extra King sized sheets for our bed, extra double sheets for the kids’ beds, one for larger duvets and blankets, and one for beach towels that we won’t use til next summer. I stacked our bath towels as we’re constantly using, washing and replacing those.
I also added some open bins for washcloths, spare throw pillow cases (I have many) and table cloths. These are also from Amazon – I’ll share links for the three styles below!
These lidded storage containers with windows were great for a space like this when you want to be able to see what’s inside. They come in a set of 2.
These are much larger and are more like a bag – soft sided but they fit a ton and have the window too. They come in a set of 3.
And these are the open bins I used – they also come in a set of 3!
The finished product feels much better and I’m doing a good job of keeping it looking this organized! What do you keep in your linen closet?
Thanks for taking a peek and I hope it helps motivate you to reorganize your closet!

Thank you! Feels so good once it’s done! I couldn’t actually believe how much I had that I didn’t use!
